Integrated Control and Safety System - ICSS

The ICSS or Integrated Control and Safety System is the current standard in offshore floating and fixed leg oil and gas production. The ICSS will provide fully integrated and seamless control and safety functions for the subsea, marine, hull, and topside facilities of the FPSO.

The ICSS provides a single interface for operators to start, control, and monitor all facilities from a central control room.

The Overall ICSS will be based on a modular architecture consisting of the following subsystems:

  • Process Control System (PCS)
  • Emergency Shutdown System (ESD)
  • Process Shutdown System (PSD)
  • Fire & Gas Detection System (FGS)
  • Accommodation Fire Detection based on Addressable system  (AFDS)
  • ICSS Operator Human Machine Interface (HMI), located in Central Control Room or E-House which will consist of Operator Work Stations, Engineering Work Stations, Critical Alarm and Action Panel..etc

  21. Voltage (optional)
  22. Gauge Cocks
  23. Painting & Protection
  24. NACE Requirement
With the listed above, we need to get the process condition i.e process parameters from the "PROCESS" discipline as listed below
  1. Design Pressure Min/Max
  2. Operating Pressure Min/Max
  3. Design Temperature Min/Max
  4. Operating Temperature Min/Max
  5. Fluid /State - Upper/Lower
  6. Fluid Viscosity - Upper / Lower
  7. Fluid Density - Upper / Lower
With all the above Information one can prepare the Level Gauge Datasheet/Specification sheet.
Please note that all the above parameters are accounted as project experience. In addition to the above one need to follow the "Project Specification recommended"

Please write to ogtechengineering@gmail.com for any observations.
